A GOUACHE ON SILK PAINTING "CHILDREN" BY LE THI LUU
Le Thi Luu (1911-1988), a gouache on silk painting depicting two children playing in the garden with a basket of fruit. Signed lower right. Housed in a gilded wooden frame. Has a Gallerie J. Le Chapelin label inscribed in French on the verso.
Le Thi Luu was a Vietnamese painter, one of the few women to enter the Fine Arts School of Indochina in Hanoi. She later moved to Paris where her artistic style was heavily influenced by French impressionist. Her work greatly contributed to the emergence of Vietnamese modernism.
Dimensions: 18 1/4 x 15 1/4 in., (46.5 x 38.5 cm.)
Condition: The painting appears to be in very good condition.
