A SILVER-MOUNTED GREEN JADE BOX WITH FLORAL DECORATION, 19TH CEN. - A large silver box with intricate floral decoration and translucent green panels. At the front of the box is a thumbscrew of a decorative floral shape with a bright green cabochon which, when removed, allows the box to be opened. The sides of the box are mounted with thin circular handles chased with spiraling decoration. 19th Century. Dimensions: 9 3/4 x 7 x 5 3/8 in., (24.8 x 17.8 x 13.7 cm.) Condition: Very good condition overall with a pleasant patina. Interior oxidized across much of its surface.
