AN INDO-PERSIAN KHULA KHUD HELMET WITH ARABIC INSCRIPTION, 19TH C.
The helmet is of steel and is engraved around its circumference with many cartouches bearing Arabic lettering and foliate imagery. There is an adjustable nasal bar decorated with circular stamps bracketed to the front of the helmet which is placed between two plume holders. The top of the helmet bears a large spike, while the bottom of the helmet bears an aventail of vandyked chainmail.
H: 24 in., (60 cm.)
Condition: Good overall with a nice patina. The bracket of the nasal bar is slightly loose but still secure. Some chain links missing or detached but the vast majority are present. The point of the spike has been slightly turned over.
