A SCHOOL OF PAVEL FILONOV MIXED MEDIA DRAWING, RUSSIAN - School of Pavel Filonov, possibly Vsevolod Angelovich Sulimo-Samuilo (1903-1965), a watercolor, colored pencil and graphite on paper drawing depicting a man on the backdrop of a cityscape with trees and a church. Stamped lower right ”Central Statistical”. Provenance: Shapiro Auctions, NY, April 16, 2011, Lot 254. Pavel Filonov (1883-1941) was a Russian and Soviet painter, illustrator and poet.
