A RUSSIAN ORTHODOX METAL EMBROIDERED ICON, 19TH CEN. - A Russian Orthodox icon of embroidered metal depicting a group of angels surrounding an altar. The Russian phrase at the top right of the piece translates to 'Holy Trinity'. The piece still retains some of its original bright gilding, which has mostly faded due to age. H: 12.25 in. (31.12 cm.); W: 10.25 in. (26.04 cm.) Condition: Good, faded due to age. Some chips to paint.
