A RARE RUSSIAN ZLATOUST EARRED-POMMEL STEEL-MOUNTED DAGGER
A rare Russian steel-mounted hunting dagger in steel mounts with a pointy single-edged blade with one narrow fuller on each side, a very unusual grip carved of bone with a steel-eared pommel. The shape of the pommel is of the style of a Turkish yatagan which is rare for Zlaoust-made weapons. The scabbard is made of wood covered in black leather with steel mounts.
Late 19th - early 20th cc.
L: 16 1/4 in., (41 cm.)
Condition: Very good. The blade appears to be slightly pitted. The hilt is tight.
