Signed and dated by the artist's upper left. Housed in a wooden frame.Elena Lyudvigovna Korovai (Russian, 1901-1974) was an avant-garde artist and book illustrator. She studied and worked in Moscow, Petrograd, Barnaul, Tashkent, and Samarkand and drew inspiration from local artistic traditions. Dimensions: 13 X 10 in., (33 x 25.5 cm.) Condition: Good overall, there are a couple of small rips and tears along the edges. There is a water stain on the bottom center.
