ISLAMIC HOOKAH GILT GLASS BOWL, C. 1700 - The gilt poppy motifs surrounding the body of this hookah bowl may reference its use for the smoking of opium. The patterns were applied with gold paint on the blown glass bowl. Cobalt was used to create the deep blue hue. Dimensions : Height: 8 in. (20 cm.) Condition : Very good, minor paint loss.
