A RUSSIAN IMPERIAL ORDER OF ST. ANNE, 3RD CLASS IN GOLD - A Russian Imperial order of Saint Anne in Gold, III Class, c.1900. This example is a type two enameled order issued 1829-1917. A red enameled cross, constructed of solid 14K gold. The obverse center features a hand-painted miniature of St. Anne, the reverse center shows blue hand-painted initials on white enamel, and the integral ring is gold, hallmarked “56” for 14k gold, and ”IL” (in Cyrillic). Dimensions: Order arms: 1 9/16 in., (3.95 cm.) Condition: VG. The medallion is chipped, the button reverse ray has a minor chip at the corner.
