A RUSSIAN PORCELAIN EASTER EGG, 19TH CEN.
A Russian porcelain Easter egg made by the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in the second half of the 19th c. The oval gilded cartouche at the front depicts Jesus' Ascension to heaven. The back is painted with sold green color and decorated with a gilt floral motif.
Provenance: Bonhams, the Oxford Fine Sale, 18 February 2015, 10:00 GMT, lot 503.
Dimensions: H: 2 in., (5 cm.)
Condition: Minor scratches to the surface, possibly small touch-ups. A crack on the front at the bottom.
