A FRENCH ARMY INFANTRY OFFICER'S EPAULETTS - The Franco-Prussian War, late 19th century pair of French Napoleon III period gold braided military epaulettes of an infantry officer in its original box. The box is marked Au Chevalier Bayard, M. B. Paris. Epaulettes are finished with flaming grenade buttons and metal tabs marked with a depiction of the Renaissance knight, indicating de Bayard manufacture. Circa 1870. Dimensions: L: 7 1/2 in., (19 cm.) Condition: Near mint.
