A GERMAN BRONZE BUST OF SHAKESPEAR, 19TH CEN. - Realistic German cast-bronze bust of William Shakespeare by Aktien-Gesellschaft Gladenbeck and Sohn foundry. Finely modeled and covered with a nice patina and signed on the back. Circa 1890.Note: Aktien-Gesellschaft Gladenbeck was a foundry in Berlin, Germany, that operated from 1851 until 1926. During the 75-year period when the foundry was in operation it was one of the most important foundries in Germany and was known for producing high-quality bronze castings. Dimensions: H: 14 1/4 in., ( 36 cm.) Condition: Very good with a nice patina.
