A FRENCH GILT-BRONZE GIRL BY RENE PAUL MARQUET - A gilt-bronze on the marble base of a girl with a carved face carrying a hat box by Rene Paul Marquet, (French, 1875-1939). Signed 'Marquet' and numbered 4898 verso.Note: Born in 1875, Rene-Paul Marquet studied with Emmanuel Fontaine and Jean Falguiere at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris. He regularly exhibited his figures at the Salon and was awarded a prize there in 1909. Dimensions: H: 12 1/4 in., (31 cm.) Condition: Very good.
