A CAST SILVER ST. PETER CATHOLIC RELIQUARY, 19TH CEN. - A cast silver figural reliquary representing St. Peter is raised on an octagonal stand with four lion-shaped legs and openwork decor. Such reliquaries were popular since the late thirteenth century. Illegible hallmark on the bottom. Probably German, circa 1840.Weight: 4 o., 114 g. Dimensions: H: 4 1/2 in., (11.5 cm.) Condition: Overall good. With the signs of age.
