A RUSSIAN POPOV MFG GLAZED PORCELAIN FIGURINE, 19TH C. - Glazed porcelain figurine depicting an old peasant woman wearing a blue sarafan with a white head scarf, sitting on a wooden chest and spinning wool, Russian Empire, the factory of Alexei Popov, mid-nineteenth century. Marked on the bottom with a maker's mark in blue ink underglaze. The surface is neatly hand-painted. Reference: The figurine was published in the catalog “Russia. Private factories. Porcelain sculptures, ” by Sviridov D.N., Samizdat, St. Petersburg, 2017, p. 289. Dimensions: H: 5 1/2 in., (14 cm.) Condition: Very good, no chips or cracks.
