A FRENCH M1767/75 INFANTRY GRENADIER'S SABER BRIQUET
Slightly curved 23 1/2 inch blade marked on the spine "M-ture R-le D'Alsace" (manufacturer Regale d'Alsace), engraved on one side "GRENADIER" and a double crest of Louis XVI King of France on the other side, and a flaming grenade on either side, the ricasso is stamped with manufacturer marks crowned R and J . D-shaped brass hilt stamped on the knuckle bow and engraved "G.B." on the bottom of the cross-guard. Original stitched leather scabbard with brass fittings and original white leather belt flap.
Dimensions: L: 29 1/2 in., (75 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall, blade is slightly pitted.
