Vladimir Yakovlev (Russian, Soviet, 1934 - 1998), pastel and ink on cardboard double-sided drawing depicting a woman with blue eyes, circa 1966. On the reverse contains an abstract drawing of a female figure. Unsigned, inscribed on the back. Framed.
Provenance: Collection of the Bakhchanyan Family.
Vladimir Igorevich Yakovlev was a Russian nonconformist artist, one of the most prominent representatives of the generation of the "Sixties" and unofficial Moscow art. The grandson of the painter Mikhail Nikolayevich Yakovlev, a member of the Union of Russian Artists.
Provenance: gifted in 1965 by young Vladimir Yakovlev to another Russian artist and personal friend Vagrich Bakhchanyan. Purchased from Bakhchanyan in 2008 by the recent owner.
