A DAGGER (ZIRAH BOUK), INDIA, 18TH–19TH CENTURY
Dagger with handle composed of two carved plates fastened to the tang with two rivets, steel rib inlaid with gold koftgari. The blade is made of Damascus steel with a reinforced tip referred to as Zirrah bouk, the rib is partially inlaid with gold. Wooden scabbard, brass-mounted, covered with brown velvet.
Dimensions: L: 9 3/4 in., (24.5 cm.)
