Oil on board, signed in Cyrillic ”Rachkov” in the lower left corner. Inscribed on the back: ”Painted by Rachkov about 1800 of Mazeppa Leader of Ukaraine who betrayed Peter the Great / Written about by Pushkine in ”Poltava.” Presented in an ornate painted carved wood and gesso frame.
