A RUSSIAN ORTHODOX ICON ANNUAL MINEA 18TH C.
A superbly detailed large Russian Orthodox Menaion icon (also monthly calendar), circa the late 18th-century. The annual Menaion consists of Menaion icons of all months of the year and contains images of saints who are venerated in a particular month. The resurrection of Christ is depicted in the central part. Tempera and gold leaf on the board.
Dimensions: 27 3/4 x 22 3/4 in., (71 x 57 cm.)
