A RARE OTTOMAN SHAMSHIR WITH WOOTZ BLADE, 19 CEN. - A large Ottoman shamshir sword with a grooved curved single-edged blade with yalman, a gold-inlaid cartouch with the maker'smark at forte. Wooden scabbard covered in black stitched leather with silver mounts stamped with a Tugra mark. A characteristic horn grip with silver crossguard. Early 19th century.
