A GILT-BRONZE FRENCH BOX WITH GANYMEDES 19TH C - An antique French gilt-bronze jewelry box of a circular form. The lid is covered with red velvet and decorated with a relief-executed profile of Ganymedes, Ancient Greece mythological hero. The entire bronze surface is covered with a thin, beautifully engraved floral ornament. The box interior is also lined with red velvet. Ca. 19th cen. Dimensions: D: 6 3/4 in., (17 cm.)
