A GEORGIAN SHASHKA WITH GILT-SILVER MOUNTS, 19 C. - A Georgian shashka with single-edged curved European 18th c. blade, with two wide fullers on each side. A characteristic eared gilt-silver hilt decorated with beads and niello work. A wooden scabbard covered with original dark brown stitched leather with gilt-silver mounts decorated with niello in-suite. Ca. second half of the 19th century. Condition: Good with some pitting on the blade toward the tip, original leather finish partially lost. Dimensions: L: 38 in., (96.5 cm.)
