A Solid Silver 18th century Bookbinding Fitted with ”Heures Presentées A Madame La Dauphine Par Théodore de Hansy”, France, 1745 - The silver binding entirely chased and embossed with cherubs in between clusters of flowers. The front cover centered by an oval relief depicting the Baptism of Christ and the back cover by a relief depicting Madonna and Child. The spine ornamented with a relief of Jesus with a crown of thorns and flanked by crown. With gilt textblock and a pierced and chased clasp.  Hours presented to Madame la Dauphine ,  Paris: Théodore de Hansy, ca 1745-1746: This book was dedicated to Marie-Thérèse of France, who became the Dauphine of France. Bound by the workshop of Jean-Charles le Monnier (binder of the duke of Orleans). The book features engravings, vignettes and drop caps  by Souberan and Raymond, after Le Sueur, Coypel, Migrar and others.The front loose endpaper bears a handwritten, personal prayer in English (probably from the period).
