Rosh Yosef, on Maseches Chullin, by the Gaon of Israel Rabbi Yosef b. R. Meir Teomim, author of 'Pri Megadim'. * Rabbi Yosef Teomim (known as the Pri Megadim after his books on Shulchan Aruch) (1727-1792), was a rabbi and halachic Posek/decisor. He became famous mainly due to his books on Shulchan Aruch, which became cornerstones in halachic study. Rabbi Yosef was born in 1727. After his birth, his father, Rabbi Meir, was appointed a Dayan and preacher in the city of Lemberg, Poland. Rabbi Yosef studied Torah from his father and was recognized as a prodigy. Around 1744, he married. Initially, he served as a teacher of young children in the town of Komarno, and even then, he mainly engaged in Torah study and writing his books. In 1767, he moved to Berlin and devoted himself to his studies and the composition of his books in the Beit Midrash of the wealthy Daniel Yaffe. In 1774, he began to fill his father's place as a decisor and preacher in Lviv. It is said that he was a friend of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev. In 1781, he was appointed rabbi in Frankfurt an der Oder in East Germany, where he passed away in 1792.  *
