Copy of the great SEPHARDIC RABBANIM with dozens of glosses: HaGaon HaKadosh Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari ZT”L, Rabbi Yehuda Navon, Rabbi Yisrael Moshe Hazzan, Rabbi Avraham Ashkenazi, Rabbi Yosef Nissim Burla. - Kehilat Yaakov – by Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Algazi, Rishon LeZion. First printing – Thessaloniki 1786. The author, the Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Yaakov Algazi (1700-1756). Rishon LeZion, one of the leading rabbis of 'Beit El' during the period of the RaShaSH. Born in Izmir and studied Torah from Rabbi Chaim Abulafia and Rabbi Yitzchak HaCohen Rapoport. Immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and after the passing of his rabbi, Rabbi Yitzchak HaCohen, in 1755 - he served as Rishon LeZion after him, until his passing in 1756. His son Rabbi Yom Tov succeeded him as Rishon LeZion, and printed his book. * Dozens of glosses by leading Jerusalem rabbis: HaGaon HaKadosh Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari ZT”L, Rabbi Yehuda Navon, Rabbi Yisrael Moshe Hazzan (MaSHYACH), Rabbi Avraham Ashkenazi, Rabbi Yosef Nissim Burla. Dozens of glosses in various Eastern/Sephardic manuscripts. On the title page is signed 'Yosef Halfon Atiyah S.T.'. And also a deed of ownership and sale from Rabbi Yehuda Navon. On page 8a, a gloss signed Yosef Nissim Burla S.T., (page edges folded). On page 18a, a gloss signed Yosef Halfon Atiyah S.T. On page 23a, a gloss appears signed ”Ha Ani S.T.” which is HaGaon Rabbi Avraham Ashkenazi who used to sign this way. On page 41b, a gloss signed Avraham Ashkenazi S.T., (page edges folded). On page 139a, a gloss appears in writing beginning ”Esa Einai” (acronym for Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari), and a gloss on the same page is also likely by Rabbi Alfandari. On page 200a, a gloss signed MSHYACH S.T., (page edges folded). And dozens more unsigned glosses, many of which are similar to the handwriting of Rabbi Y.M. Hazzan ('MaSHYACH'), and the others mentioned above. * HaGaon HaKadosh Rabbi Shlomo Eliezer Alfandari ZT”L, ”the Saba Kadisha” (1815 or 1826 or 1830 – 1930) the elder of Eretz Yisrael's rabbis, a Kabbalist and one of the great halachic decisors. Served as Chacham Bashi of Damascus and later of Safed. The 'Minchat Elazar' the Admor of Munkacs ZT”L was very close to Rabbi Alfandari ZT”L and came to Eretz Yisrael specifically to meet him. When they met, they sat together all night with no one else allowed to be present. The next day, the Saba Kadisha ZT”L passed away. He died in 1930 at over 100 years old, known for his work ”HaSaba Kadisha” which he printed during his lifetime in Jerusalem. The Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Navon ”Moreinu” (? - 1844) was a Shadar (emissary), head of the rabbinical court in Jerusalem and Rishon LeZion, and head of the Damascus Eliezer Yeshiva. The Gaon Rabbi Yisrael Moshe Hazzan (also known as: MaSHYACH) (1808, Izmir – 1863, Beirut), a member of the Beit Din of Rabbi Yaakov Finzi in Jerusalem, a Shadar in Western European cities, Chief Rabbi of Rome, Corfu, and Alexandria, a Kabbalist, and author of many books. He advocated for the need to study ”external wisdoms” alongside Torah study on one hand, and fought against Reform Judaism on the other. The Gaon Rabbi Avraham Ashkenazi (1811 - February 11, 1880), was the Chief Rabbi of all Jews in Eretz Yisrael during the Ottoman Empire, Rishon LeZion and Chacham Bashi ZT”L. The Gaon Rabbi Yosef Nissim Burla (1828 - 1903) one of the great rabbis in Jerusalem, and in his old age served as Ra'avad (head of rabbinical court) and Moreh Tzedek (halachic decisor). He was the rabbi of the ”Sdei Chemed” ZT”L. He was called ”HaEspedan – HaDarshan” (the eulogizer – the preacher). He passed away on Rosh Chodesh Sivan 1903. A commercial halt was declared in Jerusalem, and about 4,000 people participated in the funeral procession. He authored many books: Divrei Yosef, Vayeshev Yosef - Responsa, and more. *
