”Chovas HaTalmidim” by the Rebbe of Piaseczno HY”D. First edition, Warsaw - 1932 - The Holy Gaon Rabbi Kalonymus Kalman Shapira - The Rebbe of Piaseczno HYD. The Rebbe of Piaseczno, one of the greatest Polish rabbis between the two world wars, was a master pedagogue, an exceptional educator, and he immortalized his educational philosophy on guidance in the service of God in his books, especially in this book - 'Chovat HaTalmidim'. As its name implies, it illuminates the student's path to know and fulfill his duty in his world, in Torah, prayer, and service of God. He was one of the leaders of the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto, strengthening and guiding them, forming communities against the decree of the wicked, and delivering his speeches to his listeners. He also immortalized these discourses in writings that miraculously survived and were printed in the book 'Esh Kodesh'. He stood firm until the bitter end and was murdered with the liquidation of the ghetto. The book was first printed during his lifetime. But since then, it has been printed in dozens, perhaps hundreds, of editions, and countless thinkers of his Torah from all circles, are increasing year by year. In his will, which he wrote during the Holocaust, he writes: 'And I ask and plead with every Jew to study my books, and surely the merit of my holy ancestors will stand by him and his entire household in this world and the next, and God will have mercy on us...
