PAMPHLET REGARDING KASHRUS OF MATZOS COPY OF R' SHMUEL HOMINER - The Gaon & Tzadik Rabbi Shmuel Hominer : A saintly figure from the Old Yishuv in Jerusalem, Rabbi Shmuel Hominer was known for his piety, refined character, and dedication to Mussar and shemirat halashon. His father was a rabbi and teacher at the famed Etz Chaim Yeshiva, and after his passing, his writings were published under the title ”MiBen Shmuel”, which includes novellae on halacha and aggadah. Rabbi Shmuel studied at Etz Chaim Yeshiva and was a student of Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer. In 1940 (at age 26), he published his first sefer, ”Ikarei Dinim”, a condensed summary of the laws of Chafetz Chaim by Rabbi Yisrael Meir Kagan. The sefer received warm approval from Rabbi Isser Zalman, who wrote: ”The great Rav, sharp and expert, outstanding in fear of Heaven and noble character traits – our teacher Rabbi Shmuel Hominer, may his light shine – one of the outstanding students of Yeshivat Etz Chaim.” The sefer Ikarei Dinim was later included in some editions of Chafetz Chaim. Rabbi Shmuel Hominer was especially known for his righteousness, humility, and emphasis on bitachon. He authored and published numerous works and articles on this topic. The famed mashgiach Rabbi Yechezkel Levenstein once wrote about him: ”A true servant of God.” He passed away in 1977.
