BAIS YITZCHOK GIFTED BY THE AUTHOR TO REB MOSHE BERNSTEIN, PERHAPS THE SON-IN-LAW OF REB BORUCH BER FIRST EDITION, PREMISYL, 1888 R. Moshe Bernstein (1892-1956), was born in Lusha, (a suburb of Minsk), and learned in the Slutzk Yeshiva under R. Isser Zalman Meltzer and in Knesses Beis Yitzchok in Slabodka under his future father-in-law, R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz. After his marriage, he served as R”M in the Kosovo Yeshiva, where he learned together with the Chazon Ish. In the 1930’s, he was appointed R”M in the Kaminetz Yeshiva. During the war, he emigrated to Yerusholayim, where he re-established Yeshivas Kaminetz together with his brother-in-law R. Yaakov Moshe Leibowitz. R. Yitzchok Scheiner, was a son in law of R. Moshe Bernstein. The noted Gaon Harav Yitzchak Shmelkes, Av Beis Din of Lvov (1828-1906) was among the greatest Galician sages of his time and author of myriad responsa, many of which were recorded in this sefer Beis Yitzchak. He was a disciple of the Sho’el U’Meishiv, but sparred with him in Torah. Years later, he was succeeded by the Maharsham as spiritual leader of Galician Jewry. The Beis Yitzchak was renowned for his phenomenal brilliance, diligent study and sharp mind, and it is said that he remained awake for one thousand nights in succession. His 6-volume comprehensive work Beis Yitzchak is regarded as one of the foremost anthologies of halachic responsa. 37.5cm L., Overall in Good-Very Good condition, light stains, light marginal tears, light worming to last page, original binding detached, damaged spine. - מצב טוב, כריכה רפויה הרב משה ברנשטיין (תרנ”ב, 1892 - י”ח באב תשט”ז, 26 ביולי 1956) היה ר”מ בישיבת כנסת בית יצחק בקמניץ, ולאחר מכן מייסד וראש ישיבת קמניץ בירושלים. נולד בעיר לושה, מחוז מינסק שבבלארוס, לרב אברהם ברנשטיין, בנו של הרב משה ברנשטיין, רבה של לושה. למד בישיבת סלוצק אצל הרב איסר זלמן מלצר, ולאחר מכן בישיבת כנסת בית יצחק בסלובודקה אצל הרב ברוך בר ליבוביץ. נישא לנחמה, בתו של רבו הרב ליבוביץ. לאחר נישואיו כיהן כר”מ בישיבה בקוסובה, ובאותה תקופה למד בחברותא עם החזון איש. לאחר מכן שימש ר”מ בישיבה של חסידות קרלין בלונינץ. בשנות ה-30 התמנה על ידי חותנו כר”מ בישיבת בית יצחק ששכנה אז בקמניץ. כמו כן פתח כולל אברכים בקמניץ ועמד בראשו. עם פרוץ מלחמת העולם השנייה, נמלט לווילנה[1]. בחודש ניסן שנת תש”א (1941) עלה לארץ ישראל והתיישב בירושלים. יחד עם גיסו הרב יעקב משה ליבוביץ יסד בירושלים את ישיבת קמניץ ועמד בראשה עד פטירתו. עקב מצבו הרפואי שהה בשנה האחרונה לחייו בשווייץ. שני חתניו, הרב אשר ליכטשטיין והרב יצחק שיינר, מילאו את מקומו בראשות הישיבה
