BNEI SHELEISHIM OF KOSSON/ Midrash Rabba gifted to Rav Zev Wolf Tirnauer ab”d of Shotz by Rav Yosef Halevy Rottenberg of Kosson, also known as the Bnei Sheleisim. Vilna. 1896. Excellent condition. 2 Volumes On the top right corner of second title page is the following inscription: ”These Midrashim I have received from the Rav, the great Gaon who is famous for his piety, of great ancestry who contains ten levels of Torah wisdom, etc. in nigleh and nistar, my father, master, and teacher, Rav Yosef, Ab”d of Kosson and its environs” Rav Yosef Halevy Rottenberg (1853-1911) was a grandson of Rav Zvi Hirsh of Zidichoiv. He was a disciple of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, and the Yetev Lev of Sighet. He was a son in law of the first Tosher Rebbe Rav Meshulem Feish Segal Lowy. His father in law, the Tosher Rebbe passed away in 1873, leaving behind only one son who was just a year old, and the Chassidim appointed Rav Yosef to lead them in his place. He also raised the young son his father in law had left behind. In 1894 he moved to Kosson, in the Russian Caparthian mountains to serve as Rav over there. He was known as a holy man who lived a life of abstenation. Rav Zev Wolf Tirnauer (1882-1959) was a disciple of the Arugas Habosem, and Rav Yehuda Greenwald of Satmar, and son in law of the Admor of Nadvorna-Bania. He served as a Dayan in Shamloy. and later in Lespezi as well as other communities until he was eventually appointed Ab”d in Shotz. He immigrated to Eretz Yisroel in 1950, and settled in Tzfas. He published a sefer called Tal Oros on Mileches Shabbos. The sefer contains his signature, and stamp, as well as the stamp of his son Rav Yosef Tirnauer. - בני שלישים מקאסאן . מדרש רבה שנתן רב יוסף הלוי רוטטענבערג בעל הבני שלישים מקאסאן לר' זאב וואלף טירנויער אב”ד שאץ ומחבר ספר טל אורות. ווילנא 1896. ב' חלקים . מצב מצויין ר' יוסף רוטטענבערג ]1853-1911[ היה נכד ר' צבי הירש מזידיטשויב, וחתנו של ר' משולם פייש לאווי, האדמור הראשון מטאהש. בשנת 1873 לאחר פטירת חותנו , האדמור מטאהש שהניח רק בן אחד, תינוק בן שנה. קיבלו אותו החסידים עליהם לאדמור. והוא גם גידל הבן של חותנו שלאחר מכן נודע כאדמור רב אלימלך מטאהש. בשנת 1894 הלך לגור בקאסאן אשר במדינת רוסיא ושימש שם ברבנות.היה נודע כאיש קדוש ופרוש היה תלמיד של הדברי חיים מצאנז, והייטב לב מסיגעט כתוב בדף הראשון: המדרשים האלו קבלתי לדו”ד מאת הרב הגאון הגדול המפורסם בצדקתושלשלת היוחסין אשר לו עשר ידות בחכמת התורה החריף ובקי בנגלה ובנסתר אדו”מ וכו' יוסף ר”בוכו' אבד”ק קאסאן והגלילות ר' זאב וואלף טירנויער(1882-1959) היה תלמיד חביב של רב יהודה גרינוואלד מסאטמאר אשר נתן לו סמיכה. וגם מהארוגת הבושם, היה דיין בכמה עיירות כמו שאמלוי, לעמפעזי, ואב”ד בשאץ. חיבר ספר על מלאכת שבת הנקרא טל אורות.  בשנת 1950 עבר לגור בארץ ישראל, והתיישב בצפת
