THE ADMOR RAV YEHUDA LEIB ASHLAG-THE BAAL HASULAM! Chidushei Harim on Choshen Mishpat. First print. Warsaw. 1871. Stamped by in many places by Rav Yehuda Ashlag. Rav Ashlag (1885-1955) was a brilliant and well known scholar, as well as a holy kabbalist, who served in the rabbinate in Warsaw, until he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel in 1922. In eretz Yisroel he opened a yeshiva, called Itur Harabanim. He also gave shiurim in Kabbala to a select group of scholars.Eventually he gained many followers and became known as a Rebbe. He authored several works on Kabbala, but he is mostly known for his commentary on the Zohar, called ”Sulam”. Very good condition, front cover partially detached. - חי' הרים על חושן משפט. ווארשא. דפוס ראשון. עם החותם של בעל הסולם, רב יהודה ליב הלוי אשלג. רב אשלג היה ידוע כגאון ועילוי עצום בנגלה ובנסתר. שימש ברבנות בווארשא ובשנת 1922 עבר לגור בארץ ישראל. שם פתח ישיבת עיטור הרבניםת וגם מסר שיעורים בקבלה לקבוצה מיוחדת. כעבור הזמן נמשכו אליו הרבה אנשים וכיהנו אותו לאדמורץ חיבר כמה ספרים על קבלה, אך היותר נודע הוא פי' הסולם על הזוהר.
