CHANEL MEDAILLON TOTE, BLACK PATENT / GOLD - Description: Chanel Medaillon tote in black quilted patent leather with gold-tone hardware. Diamond-quilted body with the oversized CC stitched to the front panel, rolled patent top handles with contrast white stitching, top zip closure with the signature engraved CC medallion charm on a chain pull, and a flat exterior back pocket. Black leather interior with two zip compartments, CHANEL(R) embossed lining and MADE IN FRANCE gold stamp. Measures 12.2 in wide x 9.8 in high x 5.9 in deep. The Medaillon is one of the discontinued Chanel shapes collectors still hunt: the CC medallion charm, the full-size quilted panel and the structured tote profile, in a French-made bag Chanel no longer produces. Chanel's current entry-level quilted totes sit well north of $5,000 at the boutique, and the house has raised prices on the quilted line every year since -- which is why the vintage French-stamped bags keep climbing. Patent surface glossy overall with creasing and waving across the quilted panels consistent with use; corners and base sound with no blowouts; handles straight, no cracking; hardware retains plating with light wear.
