St. Louis - Cristal Saint-Louis Crystal Decanter with Stopper -- Cut Flutes, Signed France. A Cristal Saint-Louis crystal wine and spirits decanter, made in France, complete with its original ball stopper. The form is the classic broad-based ship's decanter -- a wide low body sweeping up into a tall slender neck, topped by a spherical crystal stopper. Deep cut vertical flutes radiate across the shoulder and body, hand-cut and hand-polished, and the weight of the base is immediately apparent when the piece is lifted. Saint-Louis, founded in 1586 and granted royal crystal manufacture by Louis XV in 1767, is the oldest crystal house in France and sits alongside Baccarat at the top of the French tradition. The piece carries the Saint-Louis mark. Retail on a Saint-Louis decanter of this form is approximately $799. Measurements: Approximately 11 inches high including the stopper; approximately 8 inches across the base. Condition: Good. Original stopper present. Please review all photographs
