Hermes Les Chevaux des Moghols Silk Scarf - A 100 percent silk twill scarf designed by Jean de Fougerolle for Hermes, featuring the Les Chevaux des Moghols pattern first issued in 1993. The composition depicts various equestrian scenes from the Mughal Empire. A central octagonal frame shows a royal procession with a ruler on horseback under a parasol. This is surrounded by four lobed vignettes illustrating activities such as polo, hunting with birds of prey, and horses being groomed. Four circular corner medallions feature detailed portraits of horse heads. The design is rendered in a palette of gold, ivory, red, and taupe, set within a wide navy blue border decorated with ornate gold-toned foliate scrollwork. The scarf features hand-rolled and hand-stitched hems. Visible marks include the title LES CHEVAUX DES MOGHOLS at the top of the central frame, the branding HERMES and PARIS incorporated into the lower gold-tone border, and the copyright mark (c) HERMES on the scrollwork. The artist signature J. de Fougerolle appears in the lower right vignette. A white fabric care label sewn to the hem is printed with FABRIQUE EN FRANCE 100% SOIE, MADE IN FRANCE 100% SILK DRY CLEAN ONLY, laundry symbols, and an S on each end of the tag. 88 cm x 89 cm.
