A 14K Yellow Gold Amethyst Pearl and Carved Bone Figural Necklace - This necklace features a large, elongated pendant hand-carved from cream-colored bone in the form of a Japanese figure, possibly a Bijin or a young child. The figure is depicted in a traditional kimono with a separate wrap, intricately detailed with polychrome pigments including black-inked hair, a pink headpiece, and floral and geometric patterns in shades of red, green, and gold. The reverse of the pendant bears a recessed rectangular seal containing two hand-rendered red characters; the top character consists of a horizontal stroke over a pi-shaped base, and the lower character consists of two vertical strokes connected by a curved lower line with two interior vertical ticks, though the characters do not spell a readable maker name. The pendant is suspended from a strand of round, polished purple amethyst beads, interspersed with six round white pearls and small 14K yellow gold spacer beads. The strand is knotted on a purple cord. Length: 30 inches (76.2 cm).
