Lalique - Lalique ”Feuilles” Vase -- Clear and Frosted Crystal, Signed Lalique France. A Lalique crystal vase in the Feuilles pattern, made in France, in clear and satin-frosted crystal. The vase flares from a straight lower body to a wide conical rim. Around the body, heart-shaped pepper-vine leaves are worked in high relief in polished clear crystal, standing proud of a satin-frosted ground -- the contrast between the polished leaves and the frosted background is the whole effect of the piece, and it changes completely with the angle of the light. Feuilles descends from a Rene Lalique design of 1934, itself drawn from the climbing pepper vine that inspired the Lalique and Peugeot mill of 1924. The piece is signed with a hand-engraved Lalique France mark on the underside. Lalique has produced crystal at Wingen-sur-Moder since Rene Lalique founded the works in 1921. Feuilles remains in the current Lalique catalogue, where it retails at approximately $795. Condition: Very good. No visible scratches or cracks. Please review all photographs.
