Vintage Hermes Hommage a Charles Garnier Silk Carre 90 - This Hermes silk carre 90, titled Hommage a Charles Garnier, was designed by the artist Latham and first issued in 1986. The scarf serves as an architectural tribute to the designer of the Palais Garnier Paris Opera House. The central sepia-toned portrait of Garnier is framed by red theatrical drapery and golden architectural motifs with lyre medallions. The royal blue field features a design of twisted golden and red ropes ending in tassels, with corner and axial elements depicting intricate golden caryatids, cherubs, and ornamental flourishes inspired by the Opera House interior. The scarf is finished with hand-rolled and hand-stitched hems. The lower right corner is signed Latham, and the lower left contains the copyright mark (c) HERMES. The central text reads HOMMAGE A CHARLES GARNIER ARCHITECTE DE L'OPERA DE PARIS, and a cartouche at the bottom center reads HERMES-PARIS.
