Hermes Silk Carre 90 Scarf, Courbettes et Cabrioles Pattern - An Hermes Paris silk twill scarf in the Courbettes et Cabrioles (1654) pattern, designed by artist Francoise Faconnet. This classical equestrian-themed accessory features a central grey-blue field with a decorative gold-tone medallion displaying the title. The design is framed by a white inner border illustrating various horse breeds in landscapes with Latin inscriptions, and a dark navy blue outer border adorned with ornate gold baroque-style scrollwork and acanthus leaf motifs. The scarf is signed Faconnet within the print and includes copyright Hermes and Hermes-PARIS markings. It features traditional hand-rolled hems and the original Made in France care tag. No hardware is included. Approximately 35 inches x 35 inches (90cm x 90cm). 'Courbettes et Cabrioles' (Bows and Capers) celebrates the haute ecole dressage movements - the highly technical airborne figures that represent the summit of classical horsemanship. The cabriol, the courbette, and the pesade are exercises that take a lifetime to master, and Hermes's design gives these movements the artistic treatment they deserve. A scarf for those who understand that the training of a horse is as much an art form as any other.
