Taxco Modernist Sterling Silver and Malachite Hinged Bangle Bracelet - This modernist hinged bangle bracelet is crafted from sterling silver and features decorative malachite elements. The piece is designed in a bypass style, with one side of the band forming an elongated loop that crosses over a rectangular bar on the opposing side. The rectangular bar is set with malachite inlay divided into segments by silver channels. An additional small, oval malachite cabochon is set into a bezel on the shoulder of the loop element. The interior of the band is stamped with several hallmarks, including 925, MEXICO, and the silver registration mark TJ-63, which identifies the piece as being of Taxco origin. A partial maker's mark reading MERIL is also visible on the inner band. The bracelet is constructed with a central hinge and a tongue-and-groove clasp for closure.
