This poster features their Hippopotamus. This was the circus that eventually became Florida State UniversitiesFlying High Circus. Originally transitioning from a railroad circus, it was purchased and began performing in DeLand, FL. Beginning in 1957, this circus was one of the most famous in the circus industry from the 50s - 80s.After three of the four owners passed away, the remaining owner Jerry Collins donated the show in it's entirety to Florida State University in 1981 stating his desire to ”...benefit the people of all ages.
