WWII GERMAN PIONIER PHOTO ALBUM DESTRUCTION OF BREMEN 1940/41
Excellent WWII German photo album containing 327 photographs from 1940 to 1941, assembled by a member of the Festungspionierstab 12 Pirmasens, the album starts with humorous pictures of the staff members, followed by photographs of the construction of barracks in Bremen with the help of prisoners, building of air raid shelters in houses and apartments, photographs of Bremen after the air raid attacks, Flak fire at night, more destroyed building in Bremen, a few family photographs from Mannheim, arrival of Festungs Pionier Abschnitt Gruppe III/12 in Bruges, commercial photos of Dunkirk before the war and photographs of the destroyed city with the soldiers in the spring of '42 in the same city, a funeral of Major Fritz Kettlitz in Bruges, the accommodations of the soldiers in Coudekerque-Branche, with some more relaxed photographs of the soldiers. Most photographs have small handwritten captions. 12.5 x 8.75 inches. Some damaged and loss to the black album covers. The photographs are all glued in and very detailed. Excellent content.
