ALLIED JAPANESE I CEASE RESISTANCE LEAFLET
American propaganda leaflet dropped on Japanese soldiers during WWII encouraging Japanese surrender, 10.5 x 7.75 inches. The leaflets state that Japanese soldiers will be treated well if they surrender. The leaflet reads, 'This leaflet guarantees humane treatment to any Japanese desiring to cease resistance. Take him immediately to your nearest commissioned officer. By Direction of the Commander in Chief.' The verso translates to, 'Although the Japanese army was truly defeated by Yuzu, the mechanical power of the American army was outstanding...Until the day the U.S. forces stop reckless resistance and reconsider whether Japan is a peaceful country, the U.S. military will thrive after defeating the head of the war.' The leaflet has a printed picture of anonymous Japanese prisoners receiving medical aid. Mailing folds, minor loss along folds, minor tears on edges, and old tape repair on verso.
