DAVID BLAINE FROZEN IN TIME MAGIC POSTER
American poster, 'Blaine - Frozen in Time - Trapped in a Solid Block of Ice for 3 Days!', 2000, 37.75 x 25 inches. David Blaine (b.1973) is an American stunt performer. In November 2000, Blaine began a stunt called "Frozen in Time", which was filmed for a television special. Blaine was lightly dressed and encased in a massive block of ice located in Times Square, New York City. A tube supplied him with air and water while his urine was removed with another tube. He stood encased in the ice for 63 hours, 42 minutes, and 15 seconds before being removed with chainsaws. After he was removed, he was taken to the hospital due to fears he might be going into shock. Blaine later stated it took a month to fully recover and that he had no plans to attempt a stunt of that difficulty in the future.
