ATOMIC BOMB ENDS WWII - 36 PROTEST STAMPS Unused sheet of thirty-six 'Atomic bombs end World War II' cinderella stamps. These stamps were designed by Ron Kaplan in 1995 with Vietnam veteran Gerry Newhouse who had made a different stamp in protest when the U.S. Postal Service canceled a planned stamp that would have commemorated the end of World War II by showing a mushroom cloud from an atomic bomb explosion. Stamps were endorsed by Enola Gay pilot Paul Tibbets Jr.
