WWI CANADIAN ACE WILLIAM 'BILLY' BISHOP - (1894-1956) Canadian flying ace in WWI and was awarded the Victoria Cross. Officially credited with 72 victories, making him the top Canadian and British Empire ace of the war, and also received a Victoria Cross. Signed beneath his frontispiece photograph, 7.25 x 10 in., in the 'The People's War Book: History, Cyclopaedia and Chronology of the Great World War'. Written by James Martin Miller and H.S. Canfield. Published by the R.C. Barnum Co., H.L. Baldwin Publishing Company, F.B. Dickerson Co., and the Imperial Publishing Company in 1919. Damage on spine with minor abrasion, browning of pages, previous owners ex libris, otherwise fine condition.
