Scarce limited edition two volume set of the classified history and heavily detailed After-Action Report of the Third U.S. Army. These documents detail the daily activities of the Army from 1941 to 1945 illustrated with hundreds of photographs, charts and maps. Published by 652nd Engineer (Topo.) Bn. Co., B, 942nd Engineer Avn, (Topo.) Bn. Printed letter inside Volume I from General Patton and foreword by Major General Hobart R. Gay, reads, '...The presentation of this report by phases of operations rather than by calendar month... was finally rejected in favor of a factually correct record of events as they occurred. A set of maps covering Third U.S. Army's Zone of Operations accompanies the report. Comparative statistics on casualties and losses of materiel, both enemy and third United States Army, are presented graphically in the charts...' Volume I contains approx. 700 pp. and Volume II has approx. 1000 pp. 13 x 18 inches. Limited edition, one of 182 copies made. Covers of the books are damaged with some loss, but the inside pages are in excellent condition.
