ROLF CARLS
(1885-1945) German Generaladmiral in World War II, recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Carls was commander of German naval forces during the Spanish Civil War, the Baltic, and the Naval Group Command East and the larger Group North. Raeder nominated Carls as commander of the Kriegsmarine. Signed award certificate for the Iron Cross Second Class to Machinist Karl Pursch, Commandpost, 19. September 1941, boldly signed as Generaladmiral and supreme commander of the Naval Group Command North. Very good. Some soiling and folds.
