1940 NAZI EXECUTION NOTICE OF JOSEF CECH - 1940 NAZI EXECUTION NOTICE OF JOSEF CECH German broadside announcing the citizens of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia about the recent execution of Josef Cech and outlining new weapon possession regulations effective immediately in the Protectorate. Supposedly on May 2nd, Josef Cech 'treacherously shot an ethnic German Ernst Leimer, who wanted to call him out for damaging a request notice of the Protectorate government for metal donations, and while fleeing, (Cech) fired several shots at the German soldiers who were following him.' New regulations convey that those 'who deliberately unlawfully possess usable weapons, explosives or ammunition' will be sentenced to death. Those who commit this crime out of negligence will be punished with imprisonment and/ or fines. The poster is dated Prague, May 6, 1940, printed on red paper in German and Czech, approx. 37 x 25 inches, and signed in print by the Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia Konstantin von Neurath (1873 - 1956) who was succeeded by Reinhard Heydrich in March 1939.
