CONCENTRATION CAMP RABSTEIN PRISONER INSIGNIA - CONCENTRATION CAMP RABSTEIN PRISONER INSIGNIA Pair of concentration camp prisoner identification tags belonging to Franz (Frantisek) Cimpa who survived internment in three different camps from 1942 until the end of the war in 1945. The first is his red political prisoner triangle stamped with a capital 'T' for 'Tscheche' (Czech) and a cloth label with his prisoner number 1457. Cimpa was born in Turocec (Turowetz) on 7. August 1907, he was initially brought to KL Flossenbuerg on 28. September 1942, he was transferred to the subcamp Kommando Lager Seifhennnersdorf, 1/1944 - 3/1945, and again transferred on 16 March 1945 to the subcamp Rabstein, codenamed 'Zechstein', until the camp was evacuated on 8. May 1945 and the guards fled the following morning, leaving the prisoners behind. Rabstein was an underground aircraft factory operated by the Bremen company Weser Flugzeugbau. Prisoners and forced laborers worked in tunnel and canal construction; laying rail tracks; unloading materials. Two pieces.
