PYOTR KOSHEVOY MARSHAL OF THE SOVIET UNION
(1904-1976) Soviet military commander and Marshal of the Soviet Union. Twice awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, in 1944 for the taking of Mount Sapun during the Crimean Offensive and in 1945 for his part in the capture of Konigsberg. A New Year’s card addressed to Colonel-General Victor Kharchenko: ‘Please accept my heartfelt congratulations and warmest wishes for the upcoming new 1972. Marshal of the Soviet Union, P. Koshevoy’. Signed in black pen, 6 x 3.75 inches when folded. Very good.
